We all need support and at times we need more… When the verandah started to fall down because of rotting wood, we knew it was time to renew it. When things start to fall apart in our lives we know it is time to look to Him who holds everything together. God can rebuild and change our messes in all the places where our hearts are crying out for help.
The renewing of the verandah takes time and so does the renewal of our hearts. There are holes and ugliness as we wait patiently. But patience changes everything and God’s hand upon us will change everything too.
The carpenter is busy with his tools and the Holy Spirit is busy with His tools, working the Will of God in our lives. ‘In our patience we will possess our souls.’
One day we will stand back and marvel at the carpenters work and the restoration of the verandah. One day we will marvel at the work of God upon our lives and the restoration of His perfect will. One day it will all make sense but for now we trust that the carpenter knows what he is doing, and that God knows what he is doing too.
