Nine days of prayer for the world and we thank God for the opportunity to have been able to pray together in our own homes. Still the pandemic spreads into new countries and violent outbursts around the world awaken a sense of horror. We must never stop praying for the world. The Holy Spirit nudges our hearts and tells us to wake up, fan into a flame the gift we have. Can’t you see the signs of the times? More than ever the gifts of the Holy Spirit and the fruits of the Holy Spirit are needed in our world; needed in our hearts, and needed in our homes. Now is the time….
“Exercise the authority that I have given you. Do not be ignorant of the times or the occasions or of the ruling spirits of the universe. Exercise the authority.” (A word given at the end of the Novena.)

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8
St. Augustine offers us a prayer…
Breathe on me, O Holy Spirit,
That my thoughts May all be holy.
Act in me, O Holy Spirit, That my work, too, May be holy.
Draw my heart, O Holy Spirit, That I love But what is holy.
Strengthen me, O Holy Spirit, To defend All that is holy.
Guard me, then, O Holy Spirit, That I always May be holy.
